Created in 1997 in New York City by rock musician, composer and father of three, David Weinstone, Music for Aardvark's catalogue includes influences of rock, blues, reggae, folk, funk and pop. The music is innovative, intelligent, and irresistibly appealing to both kids and their parents. The catalogue includes 12 CDs of original music as well as a few compilations. Each semester is based on a Music for Aardvark’s CD.
Our classes are made up of 8-14 children aged 6 months to 5 years old who attend with a caregiver. Classes are 45 minutes long, once a week, with a typical semester running 10 weeks.
Class activities include sing-a-longs, rhythm making, free form dance breaks, and instrumental jams with shakers, drums, sticks, and tambourines. Our goal is to create a love of music and interactive play with emphasis on feeling good about yourself and having fun! Children learn to socialize, share, clean-up, and gain a positive view of the world around them through movement and song. The classes also provide a wonderful bonding opportunity with parent/caregiver and child, and the music for the program is adult approved-dare I say liked! Yup, that's right...the songs are amazing!

As The Daily Show's Jon Stewart says: "You will listen to David's (Music for Aardvarks) music, even when your kids are not around. And unlike some other children's selections, it will not make you angry."

and Page McConnell (of the band Phish) "It's real music-The songs are so good!"
